There are two very popular anonymizing systems in use right now. Freenet and Tor.

Freenet allows you to anonymously publish and view whatever you want. It’s very slow as a result, and it’s not the normal internet, so you can only access Freenet webpages, not standard ones.

Tor is very popular, and is an anonymous way to connect to the internet by bouncing your request through other Tor users randomly, before making that request on the internet to an ‘exit node’. Tor can be downloaded from, but I suggest Torpark, which is easier to use and combines Tor with a secure web browser. Information on Torpark is available from Wikipedia, but due to rebranding, you can’t download it at present.

Internet is based on IP (Internet Protocol) which is NOT anonymous. What you are looking for is a variable (or rotating) address proxy, of which there are quite a few. A simple search will give you the most popular ones out there.

I am not aware of any forthcoming standards for anonymous surfing, nor any of the standards bodies looking into anything like this. I would be VERY interested if you can supply me with a link talking about any aspect of this.
